Stop Drainage Vent Pipe Smells

with the

STUDOR® MAXI-FILTRA™
STUDOR Maxi-Filtra

Ventilation pipes are an essential part of your drainage system and, without them, problems due to syphoning and unbalanced pressures can easily occur.

Unfortunately, the benefits they provide can also come with an undesirable side effect  i.e. the sewer gases they vent into the atmosphere can find their way back to your garden patio or pool area. These gases are not harmful but they can be very unpleasant as well as embarrassing.

Nasty Niffs!

The STUDOR® MAXI-FILTRA™ is an Active Carbon filter designed to eliminate bad odours produced by the drainage system. Easily fitted to your existing vent pipe, its replaceable filter cartridge allows the system to "breathe" but prevents the Sulphides that create the odours from reaching the atmosphere.

If your septic tank is working properly, anaerobic fermentation takes place generating a "cocktail" of gases referred to as "Sewer Gas". Some of the ingredients, such as Methane, need to be vented to the atmosphere whilst others, notably Hydrogen Sulphide (the cause of rotten egg smell) need to be trapped and not allowed to escape. So, the job of the filter is to let some things out and to keep other things in. It also needs to be bi-directional so that air can get in, to balance out pressure differences , as and when required.
